The Status Bar, a horizontal area in the lower part of the GridinSoft Notepad window, provides information on what you are currently viewing in the window as well as other contextual information, such as:
- Cursor location area displays information on current cursor location (Row : Column);
- NUM area. NUM symbol appears when Num Lock mode is switched on;
- CAPS area. CAPS symbol appears when Caps Lock mode is switched on;
- INSERT/OVERWRITE area. Indicates whether you are entering text in Insert or Overwrite mode;
- Spell Checker area. Indicates whether you are using the spell check feature;
- Color scheme area displays the color scheme currently in use;
- Character sets area displays the currently selected code page;
- Line break area displays line break format of a currently loaded file (differs for files created on various platforms);
- Size area displays number of bytes in current file.
Left-click the corresponding area of a Status Bar to:
- Show GoTo dialog window;
- Switch Num Lock ON or OFF;
- Switch Caps Lock ON or OFF;
- Switch between Insert\Overwrite modes;
- Turn spell checker ON or OFF;
- Display color schemes selection menu;
- Bring up character set selection menu;
- Bring up line break format selection menu;
- Display File Statistics dialog window.
